Successful prescription roundup in Mount Vernon, Ohio

Arms of An Angel Prescription Roundup

The first day of old prescription roundup went well. A trash bag of prescriptions will never get into the hands of teens or into our water system... rounded up and incinerated. The second day of the Arms of an Angel roundup is Saturday, October 17 from 10-1 at the Station Break, 501 S. Main St., Mount Vernon, OH. Thanks to Sheriff Dave Barber, Kelly Lybarger of the Station Break, and Wes Snyder, Snyder Funeral Homes, for incinerating the drugs.

If any of your prescriptions are in foil wrappers, please open them and put all pills in a zip lock bag. We are not able to touch the prescriptions, due to DEA regulations. You must drop them into the container yourself. We then haul them to the incinerator with police escort to be burned.

We can hold a prescription roundup in any community nationwide. Our goal is to be in a different community every Saturday morning with a roundup, but arrive there the day before and speak to schools and other groups in that community that Friday. Contact us today!

On Oct. 11, we held our first motorcycle poker run, winding through Mid-Ohio, taking in the fall colors and ending up at Ye Olde Mill in Utica for fun, music, ice cream and prizes. We had 128 riders brave the cold. Thank you to all who donated prizes and rode. We plan to have two poker runs a year. The next one will be late spring or early summer and another one in the fall again to take in the fall foilage. Stay tuned.

Speaking engagements needed!

Dave Culbertson

Dave Culbertson has an effective speech and Power Point presentation, about 20-25 minutes long. He has customized versions for different age groups from 6 to grandparents.

Sometimes you'll be in tears, sometimes you'll be mad enough to fight...but he gets the point across.

He also tries to keep it up to date with the latest in the drug world. Good tips for parents and kids alike. Help us find groups for Dave to speak to, such as school groups, church groups, service clubs such as Rotary or Exchange.

No speaker fee, just donations. Any speeches further from Mount Vernon than 100 miles most likely will have transportation costs (minimal).
