Prescription roundup to be held Saturday, September 25, 2010

Arms of An Angel Prescription Roundup

Arms of an Angel Foundation, in conjunction with the Knox County Health Department is holding an Old Prescription Roundup, Saturday, September 25, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Health Department’s Parking lot on Upper Gilchrist Road, just east of Walmart, off US36.

To make the line run more smoothly, PLEASE, dump all your pills into a Ziploc bag. We are not able to touch the pills, due to DEA regulations. You must drop them into the container yourself. We then haul them to the incinerator with police escort to be burned.

The last roundup Arms of an Angel ran, took 27 pounds of pills off the streets.

Another Mount Vernon roundup is in the planning stages for November 13.

We can hold a prescription roundup in any community nationwide. Our goal is to be in a different community every Saturday morning with a roundup, but arrive there the day before and speak to schools and other groups in that community that Friday. Contact us today!

On Sat. Oct. 16, 2010, we will be holding our second annual “Clean & Sober” Fall Colors motorcycle poker run, winding through Mid-Ohio, taking in the fall colors and ending up at Ye Olde Mill in Utica for fun, music, ice cream and prizes. (Motorcycles not required…VW Bugs, Mini-Coopers, Smart Cars, etc…welcome, too!)

The poker run will start at Mid-Ohio Honda-Suzuki-Kawasaki-Yamaha. Registration from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. First bikes out at 9 a.m., last bikes out by 11 a.m. The run is only 89 miles long, going through Mount Vernon, up S.R. 3 to Jelloway, to Danville, then to the Mohawk Dam, Roscoe Village and ending up at YeOlde Mill, in Utica.

Plenty of time to stop, eat, shop and ride at a leisurely pace. Last poker hands need to be entered by 3 pm. Prizes awarded at 3:30 pm. 50-50 drawing. Then get home in time for the evening Buckeyes game. The views are awesome, the roads are nice, but caution, there are many winding curves and an occasional Amish buggy.

Speaking engagements needed!

Dave Culbertson

Dave Culbertson has an effective speech and Power Point presentation, about 20-25 minutes long. He has customized versions for different age groups from 6 to grandparents.

Sometimes you'll be in tears, sometimes you'll be mad enough to fight...but he gets the point across.

He also tries to keep it up to date with the latest in the drug world. Good tips for parents and kids alike. Help us find groups for Dave to speak to, such as school groups, church groups, service clubs such as Rotary or Exchange.

No speaker fee, just donations. Any speeches further from Mount Vernon than 100 miles most likely will have transportation costs (minimal).
