About Us

The Arms of an Angel Foundation, a non-profit Drug Awareness Outreach Program was founded in February 2009, by Dave and Ellen Culbertson and family, after the tragic, accidental heroin overdose of their son, Carl Culbertson, who fought addiction for eight years.

The goal of the foundation is to reach out to young people and adults, spreading education and awareness of the heroin epidemic and other timely drug issues...with a special emphasis on Small Town America, where the problem is growing exponentially.

This is the new life-long ministry of the Culbertson Family.

"If we can help prevent other families from going through what we went through, and are still going through, during Carl's addictions, death and our grieving process, then Carl's short life will have more meaning," commented Dave Culbertson.

Dave is available as a speaker to groups of any size and to ages 12 and up to parents and grandparents. He has age-specific presentations with PowerPoint, that last about 20-25 minutes to bring this message personal and up close. Caution... his presentation may have you in tears during part of it, but it definitely gets the point across. We are in a war... and presently are losing... Dave is here to fire us back up to take charge and win this war on drugs. Help Arms of an Angel Foundation grow nationwide with your support.

If you have suggestions for speaking engagements for Dave, e-mail him at ArmsOfAnAngel2009@hotmail.com.

Donations can be made to: Arms of an Angel Foundation; PO Box 1091; Mount Vernon, OH 43050. An endowment program is in the works, too, for donations of $2500 or more, that the principal will never be touched, and the interest will go into the operating funds of the foundation....helping perpetuate this ministry for years to come.

"Life isn't defined by what happens to you...but by how you respond to what happens to you."

Carl's Story

Carl Culbertson fought addictions for eight years before his accidental heroin overdose on February 13, 2009, passing to be with The Lord two days later. Arms of An Angel Foundation was created in his honor and memory by his family to help bring purpose to his short life.

Carl was born on November 13, 1981, the oldest of six children. He was loved and respected by many and had a way of making people laugh and smile with his witty sense of humor. He was an honor student, athletic, and could easily have been labeled "The All-American Boy".

We love you Carl. We miss you Carl. We shall honor you, Carl, by helping prevent other families from going through what we have, and are still going through.
